Inspiring

Well, we just returned from the International Convention for USANA Health Sciences in Salt Lake City... whew, what a great four days. There were so many inspirational speakers and regular people who have become independently wealthy through USANA - who knew? Two of my favorites were Tim Lewis, a minister who joined the "Million Dollar Club" this year (has earned over 1 million through USANA) and Lynne Allen-Johnson who has been a top earner for many years. Both were so touching from the stage. There were many tales of people who have been in for years and finally their families are accepting that the health and wealth of USANA is real.
On our personal side, we have vowed to make "Gold Director" by the end of October and "Ruby" by next convention. This will enable us to live the life we have dreamed of, donating large sums to charities and traveling around the world. Climbing Kilimanjaro is on the horizon and definitely we will be able to do that thanks to USANA.

Dr. Wentz was also totally awesome. His mission to bring health to the world is amazing. The Children's Hunger Fund donates 99 cents for every dollar given to them!! how cool is that? Hearing his words about health and nutrition gave me great pause to reflect on how much I take for granted. So many people suffer from malnutrition and go to bed hungry. I will continue to support this great cause.

book

I will be getting my first commission check for my book. Have you bought a copy yet? www.someoneelsestomorrow.com

Someone Else's Tomorrow is my first venture out of the world of e-books and into more "traditional" type publishing. Somewhat autobiographical, S.E.T. could be anyone's story. Have you ever wondered how you got stuck in your job? Have you thought about moving on, but just couldn't let go of the limited security that job gave you? What would happen if you found yourself cast out of your current life situation? Personal transformation is about chasing your dreams and following your bliss. This story tells of one man's self-discovery and the tools he uses to become a new person. As with any good allegory this can be read on different levels. It can be a quick fictional read, or a road map to starting the life you were meant to lead.

leaving on a jet plane

We're heading for Salt Lake City on Tuesday morning. Our flight leaves at 830 from Philly, so what time do we really have to be at the airport? I've only flown once or twice since 911. Which also happens to be my wife's birthday.
if we take the shuttle to the airport we have to meet it at 4am, 20 minutes from our house, so that means we would have to be up at around 3am (at the latest) to make the shuttle and get to to philly hours and hours early.
Nah, I think I'll drive and pay for a weeks parking at the airport. my car is not likely to attract attention, a '91 minivan, so it should be safe.

my runs are starting to really get time consuming and loooong. 16 miles today. I'm sort of dreading starting it, but the run itself will be great. I have to sit and stare at the computer for about 15 minutes after I wake up, before I run. That way any possible shit will start knocking at the door and I can go pre-run and not have to stop to dump. Fun reading here. Exit strategy... at least I have one, not like our clueless government. oops, sorry political statement there. I try to avoid that. (after 13 years in the military I can comment on war; I'm entitled, just like any citizen who votes)

Anyway, back to SLC, international convention for USANA, should be awesome. I am totally looking forward to it.

IRan

I ran 14 miles today. longest run of my life, and it mostly goes up from here. Sundays are my long run days. next week is 16 then 18 then back to 6 then 20, 14,14,10 and then the marathon 26.2 whew.
it's coming up quickly quickly quickly. Which isn't how I run. I am trying to keep the 10 minute mile pace, (6 miles per hour) and aiming at running a 4.5 hour marathon. today my run was just over two hours, so I am on track. Running distance is almost all in your head. Once you can run ten miles the rest of it is just a mental challenge. (and I am mental) : )

The USANA is still going strong. I am challenged to have a thousand dollar week next week and soon to have four of those in a row. have to work hard and get some great people under us. We have that in Cindy and Kerry, but the rest of our team is slow out of the blocks. I think they all can do well, but need some sharp pokes with a stick to get moving, or maybe a carrot dangling. I would think the money would be a pretty large carrot. Who wouldn't want to work for 100 hours, solid hard work, and then get paid big bucks the rest of their lives?
seems like a great exchange to me.
anyone interested, just call me and I'll explain the whole thing. It's not easy work, but it is simple. persistance pays off, sort of like training for my marathon.

Mentor

I've always believed that having a mentor can expedite any process and I have worked with them in the past. So in that vein, we've partnered up with the Enlightened Wealth Institute for a real estate mentor. Interesting process so far. We had an interview for about an hour and a half and one prerequisite is that we have to donate 10% of profits to charitable causes. That's the sort of mentoring application question that I like. We had that plan anyway, so it's good to know they are on board with our wishes. We will be personally mentored for sixteen weeks and then have a go to phone number for questions and stuff for another eight months.
This is cementing another stream of income for us. We are looking to have 10,000 per month income from real estate and I can see that happening somewhat quickly.

investing in real estate

Well, we are in the process of getting a mentor from EWI to guide us on our journey back into real estate investing. we are checking out the success stories on www.millionairehalloffame.com we did pretty well on our last two investment properties, but that was all on our own and conventional financing and we aren't in a great position for that.

my book sales are doing OK, hopefully that will pick up a little, and next month I get my first commission check, so that should be interesting. I am really curious as to how many books actually have sold. So far I am in the dark on that one.

yes

And the answer is...Yes. Yes I do have a book you can buy. As a matter of fact I have two. one on personal transformation, www.someoneelsestomorrow.com and one on how to evaluate and select stocks www.selectingvaluestocks.com

Hey I might as well plug them, as long as I am writing here as well. Most of my writing is done on my main website www.robertbritt.com
There are also a few **FREE** e-books on my site, written by myself, Joe Vitale and others. More will be added as I happen across writings of value that I can share freely.

That stuff is all free and some of it is pretty entertaining. I've been told I have a knack for writing and sometimes that shows. I hope some of the things I've written will touch and inspire people. My goal is to help people to reach their dreams. If I can help you, please let me know.
thanks

Following Your Dreams

We only have one shot at this, so don’t waste the one you’ve got. What are your dreams, and are you doing anything about attaining them?

I seriously began looking at my life – maybe it was an early midlife crisis of sorts – around age 37. I realized that what I was doing had nothing to do with what I had dreamed about as a younger man. But what could I do about it? A large step for me was getting my bachelor's degree from college at age 41. The degree brought forth a realization that with a goal in mind, you can do anything you set your mind to. I was told I was wasting my time pursuing that goal. I had a well-paying job at a steel mill. Why did I need to waste time on education?

My answer is that the most important asset any of us have is our mind, and as soon as we stop learning, we stop living. I am a life-long learner and will never stop my self education. For me, the attainment of my degree was a doorway to a new life. It wasn’t so much the degree itself but the belief in myself that it restored. After a time, I decided to really open the doors wide and seize life with both hands.

16 months ago when I told my manager I was giving two weeks’ notice, and I planned on making a living as a writer, it was the scariest moment of my life. I had spent 14 years climbing the corporate ladder and was almost halfway to retirement. When he asked if I was sure I knew what I was doing, I could only answer, “Not really.” I didn’t know what I was getting into and, to be honest, I still don’t. My days are an edventure. I didn’t misspell that. Every day is a marriage between education and adventure.

I finished writing my first novel, Someone Else’s Tomorrow – A Tale of Transformation, and the high I got from seeing it for sale on Amazon was like climbing Mount Everest and planting my flag. My edventure is continuing. Next year I have plans to climb Mount Kilimanjaro with my friend Werner Berger, who just returned from climbing Everest at the ripe young age of 69. It’s never too late to pursue your dreams, and you never know where they are going to lead you.

The most important things in life are investing in yourself and living the life you were meant to lead. Think about the things that make you happy or the dreams you had for your life when you were young and your thoughts weren’t limited by the naysayers and dream stealers. What is holding you back from chasing those dreams or living that life? You don’t have to quit your job or jump off a cliff. Maybe the education you need to do the things you dream of is available at college, tech school, art institute or the library. Maybe you just need to find a mentor or a master to apprentice with. Maybe you need a life coach to help guide you on your journey. Perhaps the spark you need can be found in an inspirational book.

I look back at the journey I have taken in the past year, and it makes me catch my breath. Is my destiny to be the writer I dreamt of in elementary school or is it to change the world? Or both? I don’t know. All I do know is the past year has been the most fantastic year of my life, and I think it is only going to get better from here on out. I’ve heard many times that when God closes a door he opens a window. I think when we decide to close our own doors; God opens the universe for us.
